Undeterred by the restrictions, Randy Travis continues his unique tour

Randy Travis will be back for more dates with his unique More life Tour starts in January 2025.

Although the country legend will not sing at the shows due to a stroke in 2013 that prevented him from performing, he and his wife Mary Davis will be onstage to interact with fans while singer James Dupré performs with Travis' original touring band. He will tour for 23 U.S. stops between January 10 and May 12.

“The More life Tour celebrates so much more than a musical moment in time,” he said in a statement via Taste of the country“It is a gift for me to spend time with my fans and my band while James Dupré perfectly presents the songs that best define my career.”

Travis was 54 when a near-fatal stroke left him suffering from aphasia, a speech disorder that affects a person's ability to understand and communicate. Now 64, the Grammy winner still has difficulty speaking and is now largely wheelchair-bound. Davis is always by his side, helping him get around and communicate.

“Without our faith, we couldn't have gotten through all of this. We were in the hospital for almost six months,” Davis said. Rolling Stone in 2020. “We really relied heavily on God. We still do that every day. It's like they're saying, 'By the grace of God I can walk.' And that's exactly how we feel.”

Despite his limitations, Travis remains a mainstay in country music. Earlier this year, he made headlines with the release of an AI-generated new song. He also participated in the first leg of the More life Tour – whose name comes from a 2022 documentary about his personal life and career – in the summer.
