Motorcyclist dies in accident in southeast Portland

Portland police are investigating a crash in southeast Portland that killed a motorcyclist Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the area of ​​Southeast 55th Avenue and East Burnside Street.

The Portland Police Bureau's Major Incident Team is on site to photograph the accident scene, speak with witnesses and investigate the cause.

The driver of the vehicle that collided with the motorcycle is still at the scene and is cooperating with officers, police said.

East Burnside between Southeast 53rd and 57th Avenue is closed to traffic, police said.
