Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois start time, full fight card details | DAZN Boxing

While last weekend offered combat sports fans a variety of opportunities to satisfy their fighting lust, including UFC 306 at The Sphere, Bellator London And Canelo vs. Berlanga is a little slower this weekend (Sat., Sept. 21, 2024). But there is no need to worry, because there is a big boxing event taking place later in the afternoon, as Anthony Joshua Comparisons Daniel Dubois will face off at Wembley Arena in London, England in an IBF heavyweight title fight, streamed live on DAZN’s pay-per-view (PPV).

A highly anticipated fight between Joshua and Tyson Fury just doesn't seem to be meant to be. Both men have said they want to attack each other, but instead of putting the deal in writing, they have fought with others, including Francis Ngannouwhich both men defeated. It is just odd that a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion can walk into the boxing ring and face both men in consecutive fights, but they cannot fight each other? Please help me understand this. Nevertheless, Joshua will be back in action today following his devastating knockout victory over “The Predator” earlier this year (see it again here), his fourth consecutive victory since winning two consecutive fights against Alexander Usykwhich cost him his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles.

Speaking of Usyk, he also defeated Dubois and knocked him out in August 2023, so it makes sense for these two men to face each other. Since his loss to Usyk, Dubois has picked up two consecutive KO victories, including his most recent victory over Filip Hrgovic to secure the interim IBF heavyweight title (see here). Now he wants to secure a possible rematch against Usyk if he can pull off a surprise win over Joshua, who has only lost to two men in his career (Usyk and Andy Ruiz). Joshua has 25 knockouts on his resume, Dubois has 20, so this fight (like most heavyweight title fights) could be over in a flash. A win for Joshua could set up the much-anticipated fight against Fury, assuming “Gypsy King” gets revenge on Usyk next month.

Josh Kelly was ready to face Liam Smith on the undercard of this event before Smith had to pull out of the fight due to an unspecified illness. To fill the short-term gap, Ismael Davis. Davis is 29 years old and undefeated with six knockouts (13-0). Interestingly, he is scheduled to face Uisma Lima for the IBF Inter-Continental Super Welter title next month, but depending on the outcome of that fight, those plans could go up in smoke. Kelly has a record of 15-1-1 and is the current WBO super welterweight champion. He has won eight fights by knockout, seven of them by decision. His only loss came three years ago by knockout. Kelly competed in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but failed to win a medal.

Joshua Buatsi (18-0) meets William Hutchinson (18-1) in a 12-round light heavyweight (175 pounds) bout. Buatsi has won 13 of his fights by knockout and fights in the orthodox stance. The 35-year-old fights out of Croydon, London, UK. Hutchinson, meanwhile, also has 13 knockouts on his resume and fights out of Carstairs, Scotland, UK, so it will be a fight of two hometown guys.

The two men know each other very well, having been sparring partners in the past. For Hutchinson, this is a chance to give it his all, and he intends to do some damage.

“Buatsi is good – he is a good, strong fighter, but he is similar to Craig Richards”, he said Boxing scene“I said it about Craig Richards and I will say it about Buatsi – I will give him a good dressing down.

“I really don't know [think Buatsi’s better than Richards]”, he continued. “Actually, I think Richards is better stylistically. I think Richards was the more difficult fighter. Buatsi will come and attack, and I will knock him out.”

There is no sympathy between the two men and, as Buatsi recently explained, things took an abrupt turn when he tried to be respectful to his opponent.

“I know him. We should be friends; we fought. We fought together. I have [like him] until we argued. I wanted to shake his hand, but he was trying to act like a tough guy when he's supposed to be a born-again Christian. I thought, 'Man, why are you doing this?' I don't know what kind of crap was coming out of his mouth,” he said, recalling their sparring sessions in which he usually had the upper hand.

“He is very, very upset because I caught him when I was a little boy,” he continued. “When I was 20 years old, I gave him the biggest [beating] of his life. That was in sparring. But sparring is sparring – it means nothing. It was so long ago, I just remember beating him up – and that's the truth.”

In a 135-pound fight Mark Chamberlain (25) will fight Josh Padley (28). Chamberlain has a perfect record (16-0) with 12 knockouts and now the former construction worker is looking to make a splash in front of more than 90,000 of his countrymen. Padley is also undefeated (14-0) with four knockouts and is hoping for a big win to boost his reputation.

There isn't really a lot of hype about this card, but at least it doesn't cost a fortune, as the price is only $19.99. In the co-main event Tyler Denny will put his European middleweight title on the line against Hamzah Sheeraz. Denny, 33, has won six fights in a row and holds a record of 19-1 with just one knockout victory. Despite having no wins on his resume, Denny is as talented as they come. The scrappy Brit says fighting at the famous Wembley Arena is a dream come true, but to say he was a winner there would be the icing on the cake.

“I think we are now beyond dreams,” Denny said recently Express & Star“I never thought I would fight at Wembley. It's a massive opportunity. But it's all about winning. I don't just want to say I fought at Wembley – I want to say I won at Wembley. I'd rather fight at Walsall Town Hall and win than fight at Wembley and lose. I have to win. That's the main thing.”

For Sheeraz – who is undefeated (20-0) and has an impressive 16 knockouts to his name – this is his chance to make a name for himself… and he is not afraid of the pressure that comes with this incredible opportunity.

“Especially being the ambassador for Riyadh Season, there are expectations,” Sheeraz said. “People say, 'Is that pressure?' I wouldn't say it's pressure. I like having those expectations put on me because I show up, I show up and I get the knockout,” he told Boxing Scene.

Sheeraz currently has 14 knockouts under his belt and is determined to make it 15 in a row and collect some medals for his legacy along the way.

In the third of three title fights Anthony Cacace will defend his IBF super featherweight title against Josh Harrington. Cacace – who hails from Belfast, Northern Ireland – holds an impressive record of 22-1 with eight knockouts. The 35-year-old southpaw owns both the IBF World Super Feather title and the IBO World Super Feather title and is determined to defend both in what he predicts will be a fierce fight.

“It's going to be an absolute war from start to finish,” he said recently. “Tune in! The top fighter is AJ Dubois. This card is extraordinary. I'm going to win no matter what – knockout, points, whatever the outcome. I'm going to win!”

Harrington has a 31-3 record and fights out of the United Kingdom, so he will have the crowd behind him. The former IBF featherweight champion will be looking to get back on the podium.

Have fun fighting!
