Police arrest man after responding to gun incident in Waterloo

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a man after receiving reports of a weapons incident in Waterloo.

On September 20, 2024, at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a man threatening people in the area with bear spray. Officers located the man nearby and arrested him.

As a result of the investigation, police charged a 22-year-old man from Waterloo with the following:

  • Attack with a weapon
  • Making threats of death or bodily harm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Disguise on purpose
  • Failure to comply with the release order

The defendant was held in police custody pending his bail hearing.

No physical injuries were reported.
