Deadline Detroit | Third of five men accused of breaking into a Troy home as part of an international crime ring pleads guilty

Luis Felipe Camargo,

The third of five men accused of breaking into a Troy home last month as part of an international crime ring has made a confession in Oakland County District Court, the Oakland Press reports.

Earlier this week, 43-year-old Luis Felipe Camargo, aka Alberto Franco Jimenez, of Mexico, pleaded “no contest” to a second-degree trespassing case, the publication reports. “No contest” means he neither admits nor denies the charges against him, but accepts the punishment.

The prosecution has dropped the charge of driving without a license. The verdict is scheduled for October 15.

Authorities believe that all five men involved in the break-in are in the United States illegally.

The five men were arrested on August 1 after a broad daylight break-in at a home in the 3600 block of Millay Drive in Troy, the Oakland Press reported.

The homeowner called the police after noticing the break-in on a security camera he had access to while at work.

In August, Colombians Michel Alba Rincon, 39, and Geovanny Castellanos-Forero, 27, pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary. Their verdict is scheduled for September 24.

Two other men from Colombia are awaiting trial.
