Wesco says NC State game “will be a tough battle”

CLEMSON – The Clemson Tigers played a historic record game against Appalachian State on September 7th.

–Earlier this week, freshman wideout Bryant Wesco described the team's continued cohesion, saying that chemistry has increased tremendously and the team's performance has improved. The 21stThe ranked Tigers begin ACC play against the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday (12 p.m., ABC) at Memorial Stadium.

-Wesco described how preparing for a conference game is no different than any other game. Last season, the Tigers lost to NC State 24-17. Wesco explained, “You just have to know that they're coming to beat you and it's going to be a tough battle.”

-The true freshman noted that his ability to track the ball through the air has improved. He explained that he used to struggle with that. Wesco says the success against App State helped him: “The work I put in resulted in us being able to get further forward.” Wesco caught three passes for 130 yards. Klubnik's 76-yard touchdown pass was Clemson's first touchdown of the season and his first career touchdown. The two later connected on a 56-yard pass that set up Klubnik's first rushing touchdown of the season.

–Wesco talked about his ongoing relationships with receivers Antonio Williams and Adam Randall, calling them the “best leaders and hardest workers I know.” He explained how the chemistry on offense has gotten better despite the early stage of the season.
