Maine man dead after car crash in Albion

James T. McGarey, 53, of Albion, died after a car crash on East Benton Road in Albion. Officials say McGarey was driving southbound when he left the road and struck a rock around 7:41 p.m. Friday. Maine State Police officers attempted to rescue him, but he succumbed to his injuries. The crash remains under investigation. Police ask witnesses or anyone with information about the crash to contact the Maine State Police Central Field Troop at (207) 624-7076.

ALBION, Maine —

James T. McGarey, 53, of Albion, died after a one-car crash on East Benton Road in Albion. Officials say McGarey was driving southbound when he left the road and struck a rock around 7:41 p.m. Friday.

Maine State Police officers attempted to rescue him, but he succumbed to his injuries.
