Roommates fight over dirty dishes: Rocky River police report

Theft, Center Ridge Road

On September 11, Giant Eagle store security reported that they observed a customer select several items and place them in a reusable shopping bag in a shopping cart. The man then went through the self-checkout lane and paid for some of the items. He left the store without paying for the items in any of the bags. The unpaid merchandise was valued at $136.77 and included groceries. The 29-year-old Rocky River man was arrested for theft.

Attack, Westway Drive

On September 11, a man reported being attacked by his roommate. The man told police he and his roommate had been arguing over dirty dishes before the attack. The man had small cuts on his face and head and was bleeding. The 34-year-old roommate was arrested for assault.

Theft, Smith Street

On September 12, a resident reported losing her wallet earlier in the day. It was later returned to her by landscapers, but $1,400 in cash was missing. Officials are investigating.
