Several injured in hit-and-run accident involving four cars in front of KCI airport

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – At least five people were injured in a four-car crash Friday night.

The accident occurred on September 20 at around 11:12 p.m. on I-29, just outside Kansas City International Airport.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an unknown vehicle struck a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe as it was traveling south on I-29.

The impact caused the Chevrolet to enter the northbound lanes of I-29 and strike the front of a 2015 GMC Sierra. The GMC then struck a 2004 Honda Pilot, causing it to roll over.

Five people were injured, all of whom were wearing seat belts:

  • Car #2: The 56-year-old driver of his Chevrolet was struck from behind sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
  • Car #3: The 52-year-old driver and two 24-year-old passengers in the GMC that were struck from the front sustained minor injuries. Someone else took the driver to the hospital while EMS transported the two 24-year-olds.
  • Car No. 4: The 50-year-old driver of the Honda Pilot was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

There is no information available about the first person responsible for the accident and his driver.
