Pedestrian killed in accident in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY – Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed in a crash in Morgan County Saturday morning.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said officers were dispatched to the area of ​​SR 252 and Whetstine Road around 4:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a female victim lying unconscious in a ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with the investigation.

According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian, dressed in black, was traveling westbound on SR 252 and was standing about two feet in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle, also traveling westbound, did not see the pedestrian and struck her.

Neither speed nor impairment are currently considered to be decisive factors.

The pedestrian had no identification on her and was not identified. She is described as a white female, late twenties to early thirties, with short hair on the sides and longer on top. She has a star tattoo behind her right ear and a lion on her left forearm.
