Drug arrest announced in Havelock

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Havelock Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle involved in drug trafficking. Sniffer dog Rowen was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 87 grams of methamphetamine and 9.1 grams of fentanyl.

Daniel Kalkhof of Sumter, South Carolina was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, two counts of possession of drugs with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver Schedule II drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kalkhof was transported to the Craven County Jail where he is being held on $1,200,000 bail.
