Florida man wanted for unsolved murder in Virginia arrested after 14 years

A Palm Coast man who was stopped for running a red light was in jail Friday after officials learned he was wanted in Virginia in connection with an unsolved murder case, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

Timothy Hickerson, 43, had lived in Palm Coast since 2022, according to the sheriff's office. He was in the Flagler County Jail on Friday awaiting extradition to Virginia on charges of second-degree murder and burglary, the sheriff's office said.

According to the sheriff's office, Hickerson was arrested Tuesday for running a red light following a traffic stop at the intersection of Old Kings Road and Frenora Lane.

He was wanted for the murder of Shane Ryan Donahue, 23, of Nokesville, Virginia, about an hour southwest of Washington, DC.
