Second teen arrested in Junction City after social media threat

JUNCTION CITY, Kansas (WIBW) – The Junction City Police Department arrested a second juvenile on Friday, September 20, as part of an ongoing investigation into social media threats at 475 USD schools.

As in the previous case, the teenager was arrested, taken to the police station for processing and later handed over to his parents.

The juvenile was charged with aggravated criminal threat, a Level 5 felony.

Based on the results of this investigation, JCPD remains convinced that there was no intent to cause violence toward students or staff at our schools.

At this time, the JCPD does not anticipate any further arrests in this case.

The investigation is ongoing and JCPD will continue to take every precaution to ensure the safety of our community.

The JCPD urges everyone to remain vigilant and immediately report any concerning behavior or threats to law enforcement.
