Ballston man arrested on multiple weapons charges after incident of aggression while driving, police say

New York State Police arrested Aaron J. Delano, 25, of Ballston on September 10 on multiple weapons charges and reckless endangerment following a road rage incident that occurred on August 28.

The Latham Interstate Patrol received a complaint at approximately 3:05 p.m. that a handgun was displayed during a road rage incident.

After an investigation, police concluded that Delano was involved in a DUI incident in which he was working with the victim near I-787 in Colonie. He allegedly brandished the gun and pointed it at the victim.

Police said they found and confiscated the gun, believed to have been used in the traffic incident, in Delano's vehicle during their investigation.

According to police, Delano was also caught illegally possessing several firearms and high-capacity magazines at his Ballston home.

Delano was arrested and charged with:

  • Three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Reckless endangerment in the second degree
  • Second degree threat

State police said Delano was arrested at his home and transported to Latham State Police, where his case was processed. Delano was arraigned in Colonie Municipal Court and released under supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.

Delano was then transported to the Saratoga State Police and arraigned on the remaining charges. He was arraigned in Malta Municipal Court and released under supervision of the Saratoga County Probation Department.
