Motorcyclist killed in crash in Groton, Connecticut: city police

The 55-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

GROTON, Connecticut – A motorcyclist died in an accident in Groton late Friday night.

Groton City Police responded to Poquonnock Road around 11:30 p.m. where they found a motorcyclist with serious injuries from an accident.

The 55-year-old motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Police units from Ledyard, Stonington and the city of Groton assisted in the investigation.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing and police are asking the public for help if they have any information.

“The Groton Police Department emphasizes that cooperation with citizens is critical to a successful community partnership designed to ensure the safety of our community,” Groton police said.
