Darius Rucker was convicted of drug offenses months after his arrest.

In February, the 58-year-old “Wagon Wheel” singer was arrested on two counts of possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance and a violation of Tennessee's vehicle registration law. He was taken into custody at the time and released on $10,500 bail.

On 10 September Darius pleaded no contest to one count of simple possession of a controlled substance in a Williamson County, Tennessee courtroom and was convicted.

Read on to find out more…Darius received no prison time and waived his right to a trial by plea. He will accept a sentence of 11 months and 29 days probation. The charge will be dismissed if he completes the required probation period. PennLive reported.

After the verdict Darius's lawyers said in a statement that the country singer is ready to put this incident behind him.

“On behalf of Darius, we would like to thank the Honorable Judge Tom Taylor and the District Attorney’s Office for the time and care they took in reviewing the details of this case and reaching its final decision,” Darius” Lawyers said WKRN in a statement.

“In addition, we would like to thank the members of the Franklin Police Department and the Williamson County Sheriff's Department for the respectful and professional manner in which they have treated Darius throughout this process,” his attorneys continued. “Darius looks forward to completing this probationary period and putting this all behind him.”
