Washington Nationals recall Trey Lipscomb | by Nationals Communications | September 2024

The Washington Nationals have recalled infielders Trey Lipscomb from Triple-A Rochester and optional shortstop CJ Abrams to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Lipscomb, 24, hit .283 with 14 doubles, four home runs, 35 RBI, 22 walks, eight stolen bases and 31 runs scored in 65 games for Triple-A Rochester this season. He joins the Nationals after batting 6-for-17 (.353) with four RBI and two runs scored in his last four games with the Red Wings.

This is Lipscomb's fifth major league appearance of his rookie season. He played third base (53 T/51 GS), first base (4 T/2 GS), and second base (2 T/2 GS), posting a .207 batting average with three doubles, one home run, 10 RBIs, 16 walks, 11 stolen bases, and 20 runs scored.

Abrams, 23, had a .246 batting average with 29 doubles, six triples, 20 home runs, 65 RBI, 40 walks, 31 stolen bases and 79 runs scored in 138 games for Washington.
