Socorro police arrest two teenagers responsible for vandalism incident

Socorro police have arrested two juvenile girls in connection with a graffiti incident that occurred on September 16 at Bulldog Championship Park.

On Monday, officers responded to reports of graffiti in the women's restroom at Bulldog Championship Park at 316 Buford, Socorro, Texas, Socorro police said.

The two girls were held responsible for the graffiti damage.

Amelie Salinas, 17, and the other 16-year-old student are accused of graffiti causing financial damage of $100 or more but less than $750.

The identity of the 16-year-old woman was not disclosed because she is a minor, and she was handed over to juvenile justice.

Salinas was taken to the El Paso County Jail and held on $750 bail.

“Vandalism of this nature will not be tolerated in our community. We will continue to work tirelessly to protect and preserve the integrity of our public spaces. We urge residents to report any suspicious activity so we can act quickly,” said Socorro Police Chief Robert C. Rojas.
