Jake Roberts attended the previous WWE Hall of Fame ceremony and expected a fight

Jake “The Snake” Roberts was well prepared to compete in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame induction.

This year's ceremony saw The Ultimate Warrior inducted into the Hall of Fame. The induction came after he and the company reunited after an 18-year separation.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Warrior was one of the WWF's biggest stars, winning the Intercontinental and World Championships and feuding with stars such as Hulk Hogan, Rick Rude and The Undertaker.

One feud that gained tremendous momentum but ultimately fizzled out was his rivalry with Roberts. After his rivalry with 'Taker, which saw him locked in a casket, Roberts offered to help Warrior defeat the Deadman, but turned away from him and seemed to be setting up a program between the two.

However, a salary dispute between Warrior and Vince McMahon, which led to his resignation from the WWF, left Roberts without a major storyline and salary package.

The animosity between the two continued for years, to the point where Roberts thought he and Warrior would face each other at the 2014 Hall of Fame ceremony.

In an interview with Rewind Recap Relive, Roberts revealed that he was prepared for a physical confrontation with the man who cost him “millions” of dollars.

“I went there with every intention of getting into a fight and was looking for him at the time,” Roberts said. “Then he patted me on the back, I turned around and he started apologizing and saying how bad he felt about what he had done and that he knew he had cost me millions.”
