Forensic teams take to the streets during murder investigations

Forensic teams entered a street in Stockton today as part of an ongoing murder investigation, police confirmed.

Throughout the day (Saturday, September 21), detectives and crime scene investigators were seen at a residence on Bowron Road, just off Hills Drive, in Stockton.

This follows the stabbing of “loving father” Lewis Bell in Hills Drive in the early hours of Thursday (September 19). Mr Bell, 26, died at the scene.

Cleveland police were called to Hills Drive around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, where a forensic tent was set up near a property because the area was cordoned off.

Five people arrested on suspicion of murder were released on bail.

Today, CSI teams in white suits were seen entering and exiting a building on Bowron Street whose front door was badly damaged.

Neighbors reported that a cordon was set up around 8:30 a.m. today and uniformed officers, forensic scientists and detectives were working at the scene.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that the police presence on Bowron Street today (Saturday) was in connection with the ongoing investigation into the death of Lewis Bell earlier this week.”

Police are again appealing for witnesses, saying: “Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 180509.”

“Anyone who has footage can upload it here: https://orlo.uk/BNCY1

“The independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online on 0800 555 111.”

In a tribute to his son, heartbroken father Martin Bell said on Friday: “He was incredibly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”
