Police in Lincoln investigate accident with life-threatening injuries to motorcyclist

Lincoln police are investigating a crash that left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred around noon Saturday near Pioneers Boulevard and 33rd Street. According to preliminary information, a white Dodge van driven by a 35-year-old Omaha man was traveling eastbound on Pioneers Boulevard. He turned left in front of a 56-year-old motorcyclist. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the van and the 56-year-old was taken to the hospital. Police said he required emergency surgery and his injuries are considered life-threatening. The 56-year-old was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The van driver was not injured and charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. Lincoln Police are investigating an accident in which a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.

The accident occurred around noon on Saturday near Pioneers Boulevard and 33rd Street.

The accident revealed that a white Dodge van driven by a 35-year-old Omaha man was traveling eastbound on Pioneers Boulevard when he turned left in front of a 56-year-old motorcyclist.

The motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the van and the 56-year-old was taken to hospital.

Police said he required emergency surgery and his injuries were considered life-threatening.

The 56-year-old was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the van was not injured. Charges are pending pending the outcome of the investigation.
