Teen charged in connection with incident that led to Miller High School closure: Regina Police

A juvenile has been charged with a weapons offense in connection with an incident that led to the closure of a Regina high school on Friday.

Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School was placed on lockdown as a precaution after police received a report shortly after 1 p.m. that two students were being chased by two or three other people who threatened to attack them with bear spray.

The caller said the students' pursuers were in the area of ​​the College Avenue school and may have entered it, police said.

The Regina Catholic School Division said the lockdown was lifted around 3:20 p.m.

In an update Saturday, Regina police said no one was injured in the incident.

Three youths were arrested for possession of weapons, but two were released without charge, police said.

A juvenile has been charged with possession of a weapon. His first court date is scheduled for October 31, police said.

They did not provide any information about the age of the arrested youths or the students being pursued.
