GBI: Newnan man charged with murder in gun store shooting

While officers were on the way, a second call revealed that a gun had gone off in the store.

NEWNAN, Georgia – A man was arrested following a fatal shooting at a gun store in Newnan Friday night, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Officers with the Newnan Police Department responded to a call around 9:20 p.m. reporting an unknown problem at Oz Tactical, a gun, knife and ammunition store located at 1 East Court Square. While officers were en route, a second call revealed that a gun had gone off inside the store.

When officers arrived, a woman named Olivia Robinson was found shot to death. Emergency services confirmed her death at the scene.

According to the GBI, 38-year-old William Brannon Owens was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and murder. He was booked into the Coweta County Jail.
