Where to watch Real Madrid vs Espanyol live stream: La Liga live online, TV channel, prediction, odds, time

Real Madrid are back in La Liga on Saturday, with RCD Espanyol visiting the Spanish champions at the Santiago Bernabeu. With three wins and two draws in five matches, Carlo Ancelotti's men are unbeaten but still four points behind leaders Barcelona. Los Blancos have dropped points away from home against Mallorca and Las Palmas, so they will have to be careful not to let their guard down against visitors they are expected to beat comfortably. Victories over Real Betis and Real Sociedad, as well as a UEFA Champions League victory against VfB Stuttgart means they are in good form with this game, as well as Alaves and the Madrid derby against arch-rivals Atletico Madrid, before they travel to France to face Lille in the UCL.

Real are unbeaten at home against Espanyol since 1996, winning their last three games against the Catalan visitors. After gaining promotion via the playoffs, Espanyol are back in the top flight and looking to avoid immediate relegation to the second division. Two opening defeats have been followed by two wins and a draw, which puts things in a more positive direction for Manolo Gonzalez and his players. Espanyol have conceded seven goals in their last two games against Real, and their seven La Liga wins against Los Blancos have all come at home.

History so far

Real will be aiming for three consecutive wins in La Liga when they face their in-form visitors this weekend. Barca are four points clear. Ancelotti's side have 11 points from five games and have won their last two league matches and their opening UEFA Champions League game. Espanyol have won their last two games and are 12th on seven points.

About the team

Real: Brahim Diaz, Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba are all out. Jude Bellingham managed 80 minutes against Stuttgart after his injury and the England international should start again. Eder Militao should step in with Rodrygo up front alongside Mbappe and Vini Jr. Endrick scored his second goal for Real against Stuttgart, becoming their youngest ever UCL goalscorer, but he is likely to remain as a substitute for now.

Possible Real eleven: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, RĂ¼diger, Mendy; Valverde, Tchouameni, Bellingham; Rodrygo, Mbappe, Vinicius.

Espanyol: Gonzalez should field the same eleven as in the win against Alaves, as Puado's hat-trick makes him a sure bet for the team. Alejo Veliz, with one goal so far, should continue in attack, although Fernando Calero and Edu Exposito are unlikely to be available yet.

Possible Espanyol team: J Garcia; El Hilali, Kumbulla, Cabrera, Romero; Tejero, Kral, Aguado, Carreras; Puado, Veliz.

forecast

It should be a clear win for Real, but Espanyol will be hoping to make life difficult for the hosts. A two-goal lead sounds about right, and a 3-1 result is not out of the question. Choose: Real 2, Espanyol 0.
