Milton Police respond to incident at apartment complex | Milton News

MILTON, Ga. – Milton police on Sept. 21 asked the public to avoid a local apartment complex due to “significant police activity.”

Residents have been asked to seek shelter and the public is urged to avoid the area. The unspecified incident occurred at the IMT Deerfield Apartment Complex at 13125 Morris Road. A dispatcher confirmed officers responded to an incident in the area.

The police department posted about the incident on Facebook, saying, “There is significant police activity at the Deerfield IMT complex Saturday afternoon. Please stay away from this area.”

Following an inquiry from Appen Media, a police department spokesperson issued the following statement:

“Milton Police officers responded to a reported incident at the IMT Deerfield apartment complex early Saturday afternoon. Multiple agencies are currently working with Milton Police to resolve this situation. All residents and visitors currently at the IMT Deerfield complex should evacuate to safety. No one else should enter the complex until the situation is resolved.”

Police did not immediately respond to a request for further information on the incident. Commenters on the Facebook page claimed that police were in a standoff with a local resident.
