Results and analysis: Daniel Dubois knocks out Anthony Joshua

Daniel Dubois pulled off a surprise victory, ruining Anthony Joshua's fourth return to London's Wembley Stadium with a fifth-round knockout to retain his IBF heavyweight title on Saturday night.

Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), of London, was the former interim IBF champion who was named full champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt in June to seek a rematch with Tyson Fury, his first title defense.

Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), of Watford, England, is a two-time heavyweight world champion and was seeking a third title. He won the inaugural IBF title in 2016 against Charles Martin, became a three-belt unified champion when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in ESPN's 2017 Fight of the Year, and took the WBO title from Joseph Parker in 2018.

Also on the card: Joshua Buatsi defeated Willy Hutchinson by split decision to win the vacant WBO interim light heavyweight title. Buatsi (19-0, 13 KOs), of Accra, Ghana, who now lives in London, had won 13 of his first 15 fights by stoppage but has gone the full distance in his last four fights.

Hutchinson (18-2, 13 KOs), of Carstairs, Scotland, was rapidly climbing the British boxing rankings until he suffered a fifth-round TKO loss to Lennox Clarke in March 2021. Hutchinson rebounded to win five fights in a row before losing to Buatsi.
