No injuries reported in Clarksville mall shooting | NewsRadio 1230 AM/99.3 FM | Hopkinsville's News Leader

No injuries have been reported so far in the shooting that occurred Saturday morning at Governor's Square Mall in Clarksville. The incident forced the mall to close for a period of time while police cleared the area.

According to Clarksville police, the shooting occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. and officers were on the scene within a minute of the first 911 call. Officers immediately entered the mall and conducted a security check to make sure no one was shooting there and there were no casualties.

Witnesses on the scene informed officers that the shooting occurred outside the mall, in the parking lot and on the bypass road. After a targeted search was conducted inside to ensure there was no threat, shoppers were allowed to enter the mall shortly before 2 p.m.

As of Saturday afternoon, no casualties have been reported. This is believed to be an isolated incident between two parties and not a random act. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Clarksville Crime Stoppers.

The Clarksville Police Department would like to thank the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Homeland Security, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Clarksville Fire Rescue, Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), First Call, Vanderbilt EMS and CPD dispatchers for arriving at the scene of the accident.
