2 people hospitalized after accident near Washington-Idaho border

A motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck on I-90 near the Washington-Idaho border, causing significant traffic delays for several hours.

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Two people were injured in an accident that caused significant delays Saturday morning near the Washington-Idaho state line.

According to Washington State Patrol (WSP), a pickup truck was following a motorcycle in the left lane of eastbound Interstate 90 and collided with the motorcycle. According to WSP, the truck and motorcycle ended up in the median between eastbound I-90 and westbound I-90.

According to WSP, the 32-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the road. The motorcyclist was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital.

According to WSP, the driver of the truck that struck the motorcycle was also injured and taken to Sacred Heart.

The left lane of I-90 eastbound was closed from 10:30 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m. Saturday, causing significant traffic delays in both directions.

WSP says the accident is currently being investigated and does not believe that alcohol or drugs were the cause of the accident.
