RICHMOND, Ind. – Police need help identifying a man accused of pointing a gun at a Family Dollar employee Friday while stealing money from the cash register.

The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the Family Dollar on South 9th Street in Richmond, Indiana, according to a social media post from Richmond Police.

According to police, the man placed change on the counter and demanded quarters, but then allegedly lunged at the open cash register and tried to grab the money.

The suspect allegedly pulled a firearm from his waistband and pointed it at the employee during a “brief struggle.”

According to police, the employee stopped and the suspect took all the money from the cash register.

The man left the store in a blue Dodge single-cab pickup truck with no visible license plates.

According to police, this person is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him.
