The College GameDay crew selects the winner of the OU-Tennessee game

Who did the College GameDay crew pick to win the OU-Tennessee game?

The University of Oklahoma football team will play its first-ever SEC game against the University of Tennessee late Saturday night.

FOR OUR LUCKY STAR STAR PLAYER TO WATCH. I THINK IT CAN'T GO ANY FURTHER THAN UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA QUARTERBACK JACKSON ARNOLD MAKING HIS BIGGEST START OF HIS CAREER IN OKLAHOMA. BUT I THINK JACKSON ARNOLD COMES TO TOWN AND IT'S THE BIGGEST START OF HIS LIFE IN ONE OF THE BIGGEST GAMES AND IN THE BEST ENVIRONMENT HE'S EVER PLAYED IN IN TENNESSEE. HOW CAN THE YOUNG GUY PLAY QUARTERBACK? THAT'S GOING TO BE A KEY DETERMINING WHETHER YOU CAN BEAT TENNESSEE. THE TENNESSEE DEFENSE IS WITHOUT ANY DOUBT VERY GOOD. THE YOUNG QUARTERBACK JUST HAS TO TAKE CARE OF THE FOOTBALL. WE'VE THROWN HIM A COUPLE OF INTERCEPTIONS HERE AND THERE, BUT HE'S GOT THE UPPER HAND. THAT'S HIS HOME FIELD. THE OTHER YOUNG QUARTERBACK, NICO, HAS THE RIGHT PROSPECT THERE. SO WE'LL SEE WHAT JACKSON ARNOLD CAN DO IF HE JUST STAYS CALM, TAKE CARE OF THE FOOTBALL, AND HAVE SOME FUN OUT THERE TOO. HE'S GOT SOME PLAYMAKERS. HAVE SOME FUN. I THINK THAT'S GOOD ADVICE. HE CAN SURELY HELP THEM IN THE RUN GAME TOO. HE WAS ONE OF THEIR BEST RUSHERS IN THAT RESPECT. YOU KNOW, THE GUY WHO USED TO PLAY QUARTERBACK IN OKLAHOMA, JOSH HEUPEL, AND HE'S ON THE OPPONENT SIDELINE. AND I KNOW WE'VE TALKED A LOT ABOUT JOSH HEUPEL BECAUSE THAT'S CERTAINLY A BIG STORY WHEN TENNESSEE VISITES THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA. AND SO A FEW WEEKS AGO WE TALKED WITH JOSH HEUPEL ABOUT WHAT IT MIGHT FEEL LIKE IN NORMAN. AND HERE'S THE HEAD COACH IN TENNESSEE AND THE FORMER QUARTERBACK OF THE SOONERS. AND THE CHAMPIONS OF THE '67 FEDEX ORANGE BOWL ARE THE STILL UNDEFEATED AND NOW FINALLY RESPECTED SOONERS OF OKLAHOMA. IT'S ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC MOMENTS IN OKLAHOMA FOOTBALL HISTORY AND ONE FOR THE ETERNALS HERE IN 2001 WHEN JOSH HEUPEL GOT TO HIS KNEES AND THE SOONERS BECAME NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AGAIN. OKLAHOMA HISTORY IS ABOUT WINNING CHAMPIONSHIPS. WE ALREADY HAD SIX NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. NOW WE HAVE SEVEN, FROM ABERDEEN, SOUTH DAKOTA TO NORMAN, OKLAHOMA. JOSH HEUPEL WAS BOB STOOPS' FIRST QUARTERBACK AND HEISMAN TROPHY RUNNER-UP, AND HEUPEL BECAME THE FACE OF OKLAHOMA'S REBUILDING AND REVOLUTION AFTER THE FAILURES OF THE 1990'S. WHEN I CAME HERE ON CAMPUS AND SAW THE PEOPLE AND THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM, WE ALL SHARED WITH THE VISION AND BELIEVED WE COULD BE HERE. AND IN 2024, JOSH HEUPEL WILL MAKE HISTORY AGAIN IN NORMAN. THERE'S A MAN OUT THERE WHO ALMOST MADE THE CATCH. HE ACTUALLY DID MAKE THE CATCH. HE'S RETURNING TO MEMORIAL STADIUM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A DECADE AND HE'S FIRE RIGHT NOW. BUT HEUPEL WON'T BE PLAYING IN THE USUAL CRIMSON AND CREAM. BUT HOW DOES TENNESSEE ORANGE SOUND ON A SATURDAY IN SEPTEMBER? I THOUGHT I WAS JUST GOING TO GET AN OKLAHOMA QUESTION TODAY, SO I MISSED THE OVER UNDER. Well, yeah, there are a lot of questions because there are a lot of great memories, including a 10-year stint as an assistant coach at Oklahoma. So it's a unique symmetry. And now it's Josh Heupel facing the Sooners in their very first game in the SEC. Man, it was a unique time to go there as players and what we were able to accomplish. Great teammates, great coaches, a lot of friends. You know. So I've always had a lot of admiration for the people of this state. And I'm not in Tennessee unless I've been to Oklahoma. SO ON SEPTEMBER 21, WHEN THE VOLS COME TO TOWN, OU FANS WILL HAVE A LOT OF MEMORIES TOO. OF THE BOY FROM SNOW JUNIOR COLLEGE WHO BECAME THE LAST QUARTERBACK FOR THE Sooners TO BRING HOME A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. FOR ME IT WILL BE UNIQUE TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDELINE. OF COURSE THERE WERE MANY SATURDAYS WHERE I WAS ON THE HOME PLAYER'S SIDELINE. I HAVE A LOT OF RESPECT FOR THE UNIVERSITY, THE PROGRAM, A LOT OF FRIENDS WHO WILL BE COACHING ON THE OPPONENT SIDELINES THAT DAY, FORMER TEAMMATES WHO WILL BE COACHING ON THE OPPONENT SIDELINES AS WELL. SO IT'S GOING TO BE UNIQUE TO BE BACK THERE, BUT I'M EXCITED TO BEING THERE. IT'S HERE. OUR GAME PICKS PRESENTED BY OUR FRIENDS AT HYUNDAI. IS IT OKLAHOMA OR TENNESSEE? OH, I'M AFRAID IT'S GOING TO BE TENNESSEE. AND THE REASON I'M SAYING THIS IS, YOU KNOW, OKLAHOMA'S DEFENSE IS VERY GOOD. BUT THEIR NUMBER SIX, TENNESSEE, IS NUMBER SIX FOR A REASON. AND I THINK OKLAHOMA WILL STAY IN, THEY WILL STAY IN THE GAME HERE. AND THEY CAN GET SOME POINTS. AND MAYBE THE DEFENSE CAN EVEN GIVE THEM SOME CHANCES. BUT I JUST HAVEN'T SEEN THAT FROM OKLAHOMA YET. YOU KNOW, THEY WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM COME HERE AND PROVE ME WRONG. I HOPE THAT HAPPENS. YES, I'M PICKING TENNESSEE. I THINK JOSH HEUPEL HAS THE BETTER TEAM, AND I THINK IT'S ALWAYS JUST ACCORDING TO THAT. I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING FROM THE OU OFFENSIVE THAT MAKES ME THINK THEY'RE GOING TO GO OUT AND SCORES. TODAY THEY'RE UNDER 40. THEY HAD IT TOUGH. 1331 TO 13. I'LL LOOK AGAIN. I THINK THE OU DEFENSE IS GOOD, BUT IS IT GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN FOOTBALL GAMES? I JUST DON'T THINK THE ANSWER IS YES. AND THAT'S WHY I'M PICKING TENNESSEE. WE'LL SEE IF WE'RE WRONG. I DON'T THINK THIS GAME IS PARTICULARLY CLOSE IN THE SECOND HALF. TENNESSEE COMES TO TOWN 31 TO 13. THE ONLY QUESTION IS: CAN YOU WANT IT TOO MUCH? THAT'S THE QUESTION FOR JOSH HEUPEL. YOU KNOW YOU'RE CIRCLING THIS GAME. HIS TEAM WANTS TO WIN AGAINST OKLAHOMA TOO. IT'S GOING TO BE AN INCREDIBLE ENVIRONMENT AT MEMORIAL STADIUM. I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY FOR OKLAHOMA HERE TONIGHT AT PRIME TIME ON CHANNEL FIVE. AND TENNESSEE FOR HANNAH HOOVER. I'M BRYAN KEATING. THANK YOU
