Eddie Hearn confirms Anthony Joshua's next fight plan – and insists he will NOT give up boxing – after his fifth-round loss to Daniel Dubois

Eddie Hearn has revealed the identity of Anthony Joshua’s next opponent following his surprise knockout of Daniel Dubois.

Joshua was knocked out by the 27-year-old Briton in the fifth round at Wembley in front of 96,000 fans.

Dubois defended his IBF heavyweight title with an impressive win, knocking down his challenger four times.

Despite the disappointing result on Saturday and speculation in some quarters that he should end his career, Joshua is already looking forward to his next fight.

After the fight, Hearn was asked what the next steps would be for 34-year-old Joshua.

Hearn revealed that there is a rematch clause for Joshua if he faces Dubois again, adding that it will likely be activated.

Speaking to DAZN, Hearn said: “I'm sure he'll invoke the rematch clause, I think that's a given. He's going to need a break and it's a dangerous fight. This guy's confidence is constantly growing.”

“He believes he can hurt Dubois. He believes he can beat him, but all the credit goes to Daniel Dubois, he deserves all the credit tonight. It was a great performance by Daniel.”

After his loss, Joshua admitted that he wanted to “get going” in the ring.

He said: “All the best to him and his team. We put everything on success, but it didn't work out.”

“They know I'm ready to go in the ring, but I'm going to stay calm, be very professional and show respect to my opponent.”
