Ridgecrest police traffic stop leads to search warrant, drugs and weapons found

On September 19, 2024, Ridgecrest Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of W. Inyokern Rd. which resulted in the arrest of 48-year-old Jana McNatt of Ridgecrest.

Officers stopped Mcnatt for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Based on information obtained during the traffic stop, a search warrant was obtained for Mcnatt's residence.

Ridgecrest Police Department officers executed the search warrant and found two pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 3.3 ounces of suspected fentanyl, three digital scales, a 20-gauge shotgun with ammunition and $1,518.42.

Mcnatt was also charged with sale and distribution of illegal drugs (including methamphetamine and fentanyl), possession of a firearm as a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating or maintaining a drug house, and possession of ammunition by prohibited persons.

Mcnatt was then taken to the Lerdo detention center.
