Conor McGregor will return to the Octagon in the near future.

The boxing icon confirmed to DAZN Boxing that he would return to the ring in 2025 and that he still hopes to face Michael Chandler, who will next face Charles Oliveira in November.

“It's going to be 2025,” McGregor said. “My job is to go to the gym, be in the gym, stay in shape and make sure I'm ready anytime, anywhere.”

When asked if he would fight twice in 2025, McGregor said, “I have to.” He currently has two fights left on his UFC contract.

Aside from this commitment, McGregor does not know what the future holds for him, he said.

“I don't even know,” McGregor said. “I'm the most highly-rated fighter on planet Earth right now. What happens after that as a free agent, I don't know.”

McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021. He was scheduled to face Chandler in June, but had to pull out due to a broken little toe.

McGregor’s all-time record is 22-6-0.
