Victim of fatal motorcycle crash on Frankfort Avenue identified

The man killed while riding his motorcycle on Frankfort Avenue Friday night has been identified. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said 39-year-old Layne Todd died of blunt force trauma just after 7:30 p.m. Louisville Metro Police said Todd was traveling on Frankfort Avenue near Stoll Avenue when he was struck by a pickup truck just before 7 p.m. Police said their preliminary investigation indicates the truck was attempting to turn left onto Frankfort Avenue when it struck the motorcycle. Todd was taken to the hospital where he died. Police said the truck driver was uninjured. They did not disclose whether charges will be filed against the driver of the truck. The investigation is being handled by LMPD's traffic unit.

According to preliminary police investigations, the truck collided with the motorcycle while attempting to turn left onto Frankfort Street.

Todd was taken to the hospital where he died.

The truck driver was uninjured, police said.

However, they did not disclose whether charges would be filed against the truck driver.

The LMPD Traffic Unit is conducting the investigation.
