Liam Gallagher slams critics for his singing at the Anthony Joshua fight and calls them “wimps” in a tirade – after some threatened to sell tickets to the Oasis reunion

Liam Gallagher has sharply criticised critics for his singing during the Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois boxing match at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

Fans of the 52-year-old Wonderwall singer, who is reuniting with his brother Noel for an Oasis tour in 2025, called his performance “terrible” and some even threatened to sell their tickets for upcoming shows.

In some profanity-filled posts on X this morning, Liam responded to a number of fans' discussions about his performance.

One fan tweeted in defense of Liam: “Coolest wanker at Wembley last night. Fuck the wankers who have their ears glued to their arseholes. It's not the fucking Jason Donovan gig, it's RnR.”

In response, Liam agreed, writing: “What exactly do you think this shitty pop concert is? Wimps can't get the punk rock vibes.”

Liam agreed with a tweet that read: “Liam you sounded f***ing BIBLICAL last night, people's attitude towards you STINKS – Live forever.”

When another fan asked Liam what he thought of those “complaining about how he sounded yesterday,” Liam simply replied, “FUCK THEM, SP***BUBBLES.”

Dubois surprised the world and knocked out AJ in the fifth round of their fight for the IBF heavyweight title on Saturday night

But after playing a three-song set – Rock n' Roll Star, Supersonic and Cigarettes and Alcohol – fans didn't hold back on Liam's performance, with some saying they were glad they hadn't gotten tickets.

The controversial performance came after many were disappointed that there were no tickets left for next year's Oasis tour due to technical problems on the Ticketmaster website and exorbitantly high dynamic prices.

Crowds of fans flocked to X to comment on Liam's performance ahead of his highly anticipated reunion with Noel.

“I'm glad I never bought Oasis tickets after hearing Liam Gallagher perform.”

“Is this Oasis reunion a sign of Liam Gallagher’s performance?”

The performance was criticized by many people who were unable to get tickets for next year's Oasis tour due to technical problems on the Ticketmaster website and horrendous dynamic pricing.

“Liam Gallagher sounds really damn awful”

“When I listen to Liam Gallagher boxing, I am happy and grateful that I didn’t get tickets for Oasis…”

“Is it just me or does Liam Gallagher sound terrible too? I've seen better karaoke artists.”

“Liam Gallagher sounds awful.”

Some fans still enjoyed the singer's performance, with one writing: “You were better than the main event… I think you were there longer too!”

“Liam Gallagher, the highlight of my evening”;

“For those of you who only knew Wonderwall 30 years ago, Liam Gallagher sounds the same tonight as he has for years.”

“I don't understand why people criticise this performance! That's classic Liam Gallagher.”

British rivals Dubois and AJ finally met in the ring to fight for the heavyweight title in front of a packed Wembley Stadium and to the surprise of many, it was Dubois who emerged victorious.

From the first bell, “Dynamite” Dubois delivered a sensational performance, demonstrating his enormous power and achieving a knockdown in the first round.

Although some would describe the performance as “terrible”, Liam helped make history as the show became the biggest live boxing event in British history.

The previous record for the highest attendance at a British boxing event was 94,000 fans for the fight between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte in 2021.

The 96,000 fans who filled the stadium included Maya Jama from Love Island, Connor McGregor and Emma Burton.

Boxing legend Tyson Fury also performed with his son Tommy, who was booed when he entered the stadium after his separation from Molly-Mae Hague.

And some people actually liked the idea, as some fans who watched the big fight back then said the Brit was still “the man.”

“I don’t want to see any slander of Liam Gallagher here, he is simply biblical”

“Liam Gallagher, the coolest man on the planet”

And the boxing fans in attendance also seemed happy to see the singer, as they could be heard shouting “Liam, Liam” between songs.

The legendary frontman strutted through the crowd with his typical confidence and almost casual composure, playing a selection of percussion instruments including maracas and a tambourine.
