Police arrest man in connection with stabbing in Waterloo

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a man after responding to reports of a stabbing incident in Waterloo.

On September 21, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., police responded to a call to a business in the area of ​​University Avenue East and Weber Street North because a man had attempted to stab another man.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect.

The victim, a 37-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old man from Kitchener was charged with the following offences:

  • Serious bodily harm
  • Making death threats
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The defendant was held in police custody pending his bail hearing.

The accused and the victim knew each other.
