Mississippi man arrested for contract killing in Louisiana

A Mississippi man was arrested in Louisiana for “possible murder-for-hire.”

Johnnie Hicks, 25, of Vicksburg, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, solicitation to commit murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated burglary, obstruction of justice and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in Iberville Parish.

Hicks' DNA was found at a crime scene in Maringouin, Louisiana, where 65-year-old Herman Harris was found dead of a gunshot wound on August 27.

The DNA was found on a pillow.

Authorities are also looking for 32-year-old Javadda Lewis in connection with the case.

They had previously arrested 40-year-old David Brooks Jr. and 44-year-old Rilonda Brooks. The two were charged with premeditated murder, incitement to murder, criminal conspiracy and obstruction of justice.
