Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso hinted at rotation against Wolfsburg

Leverkusen's coach

At the press conference, the Spaniard avoided using the word, but hinted that there could be several changes in the starting eleven. “We have a large squad and no injured players. That gives us some options to make decisions,” said Alonso.

It remains to be seen who will be affected by the rotation. There could even be a change in goal, however. Matěj Kovář is expected to continue to play, and captain Lukas Hradecky has recently been between the posts twice.

Summer newcomer Nordi Mukiele could also get a place in the starting eleven. The Frenchman has only played four minutes so far. Alonso also left it open whether Florian Wirtz will also get a break after playing many games for the club and the national team: “Yes, he has played a lot with us, including with the national team. But we will see. It is still too early to decide.”
