Three areas of interest are developing – WFTV

ORLANDO, Florida – We are monitoring three areas of interest. The first two areas are in the open Atlantic.

For Invest 96L, the probability of formation is very low (20%), while for a tropical wave further out in the Atlantic, the probability is 40%.

Regardless of what happens, these two areas will most likely be NO cause for concern for us here in Central Florida.

We are keeping a MUCH closer eye on the 3rd location.

A low pressure system is likely to form in the western Caribbean by Tuesday and Wednesday. Once it develops, we can fine-tune its direction and intensity.

There is currently a lot of uncertainty surrounding this system. By mid-week, it will likely become a tropical depression or tropical storm, moving northward into the Gulf of Mexico where further development is possible. The next storm name is Helene.
