I-94 southbound closed in Minneapolis on Sunday

Interstate 94 South is closed at Dowling Avenue as authorities investigate two incidents that occurred overnight.

MINNEAPOLIS – A section of I-94 is closed Sunday morning as the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCA) investigates two incidents that occurred Saturday evening.

The BCA posted on social media that the interstate is closed between Dowling Avenue North and West Broadway in Minneapolis as it processes a crime scene related to a use-of-force incident by the State Patrol following a separate incident on the freeway.

According to officials, no injuries were reported in either incident.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, all southbound traffic in the area is being directed to exit the interstate at Dowling Avenue near Minneapolis.

The authorities are asking the population to avoid the area and, if possible, to find an alternative route.

It is not known how long the closure will remain in place.
