Felton man dies in weekend car crash | Latest from WDEL News

A 56-year-old Felton man was killed Friday evening when his pickup truck left the road and overturned.

David McAdams was driving east on Sandtown Road around 8:15 p.m. when he lost control of his truck on a curve and it went off the road, Delaware State Police said.

McAdams swerved to the left. The truck spun, slid back onto the road, and eventually left the road again, overturned, and landed in a ditch and a cornfield.

McAdams was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Sandtown Road was closed at the scene for approximately three hours after the crash. The accident is still under investigation by Troop 3's Accident Reconstruction Unit.

Police ask anyone with information about the accident to call Master Corporal J. Lane at (302) 698.8457.

Information can also be provided by sending the Delaware State Police a private Facebook message or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1.800.847.3333.
