Naperville News: Isabel Dimas-Jimenez died when she was struck by a Jeep while riding her bike on Ogden Avenue, police said

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) — According to Naperville police, a woman died Saturday when she was hit by a Jeep while riding her bicycle.

The accident occurred around 10:21 a.m. at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Royal Saint George Drive in the suburb of Naperville.

According to police, the driver of a green Jeep Wrangler was traveling west on Ogden Avenue when she turned left onto Royal Saint George Drive on a green light.

According to police, the driver struck a cyclist who was traveling eastbound in the crosswalk on the south side of Ogden Avenue.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital where she later died. Naperville police identified her as 54-year-old Isabel Dimas-Jimenez.

The driver of the Jeep was only identified as a 44-year-old woman from Wheaton.

The road was closed until 2pm on Saturday as police investigated. All roads are now open again.

No subpoenas or charges have been filed.
