Perry Farrell's wife gives medical update after fight with Dave Navarro

Perry Farrellthe lead singer of Jane's Addiction, is seeking medical attention after being involved in an onstage brawl with a bandmate earlier this month.

Farrell's wife, Etty Laushared an update on her husband's health on social media on Saturday, September 21, revealing that he had already scheduled appointments with an ENT doctor and a neurologist. While an ENT doctor focuses on conditions of the ears, nose and throat, a neurologist diagnoses conditions that occur in a person's brain.

Jane's Addiction's reunion tour was canceled earlier this month after Farrell, 65, was involved in a physical altercation with the guitarist. David Navarro during a concert on September 13. The band had been playing their song “Ocean Size” at a Boston venue when an argument broke out that resulted in Farrell being escorted off the stage by security.

On September 16, Jane's Addiction announced the cancellation of their reunion tour in a statement shared on social media.

“To all fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take a break as a group,” the statement said. “As a result, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour.”

Lau shared a lengthy update about Farrell on Instagram, writing: “We are eternally grateful and humbled by all the loved ones who have taken the time to send us such beautiful words of love and support – and have continually checked in with us to make sure we are OK.”

Farrell's wife revealed that in the days since Jane's Addiction canceled their tour, people have offered them “love and compassion, kind words and even their homes.”

“Like attracts like,” Lau wrote. “Kindness attracts kindness. As you know, Perry is the gentlest of souls. We are as astonished as you are by Perry's physical outburst – but you must know that Perry [have] was pushed to its absolute limit.”

Lau apologized on behalf of her husband and also shared what steps they would take next.

“We are taking some time for ourselves to reflect and heal,” Lau explained. “Perry has already made appointments with a[n] ENT doctor and neurologist.”

She continued, “If you know and love Perry well, you know I don't have to deal with the other false narratives. Our souls know. With all of your love, kindness, compassion and support, Perry will pull through.”

After sharing that her husband would return to music as soon as he was well enough, Lau remarked, “Make no mistake, when he is ready, he will take another giant leap over all obstacles to make us laugh and think, and change the world together in the process. Then we can rejoice together. And you will know that we couldn't have done it without you.”
