KSP investigates attempted murder in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Kentucky (WYMT) – Kentucky State Police said they were called shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday for a shooting on Winchester Road in Wayne County.

According to Kentucky State Police, 25-year-old Chase Jackson was involved in a verbal argument with his mother, Audrey Jackson, 50, and his grandmother, Savana Brock, 94. All three are said to be from Monticello.

Chase Jackson reportedly fired a gun in the house, shooting both his mother and grandmother.

The victims were transported by Wayne County EMS to the Wayne County Airport. They were then flown by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital.

Both are said to be in critical condition.

Chase Jackson was reportedly found on foot on Highway 90 in Wayne County.

Kentucky State Police report he was taken into custody at the Wayne County Detention Center and charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of first-degree assault.

The incident is being investigated by the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London.
