Nasik: The city police have taken preventive action against three persons, including an accused in a case of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS Act) after playing a role on a Social Media Platform showing the man accused in the drug case proudly coming out of prison and receiving a huge welcome from his supporters.
A senior police officer said the accused in the Drug trafficking Fall and his two accomplices were taken to the police station, where they were forced to write a written apology and upload it to the same social media account.
“Last month we arrested the 26-year-old Chetan Yadav for possession of 19 grams of Mephedrone (MD). He was subsequently remanded in judicial custody. On September 18, he managed to get bail and was released from Nashik Road Jail,” the officer said.
When he came out of prison, he was given a warm welcome by some of his supporters and a motorcycle rally was held afterwards. After the video went viral, the police tracked down the trio and took them to the police station.
