Lane Johnson injured: Eagles right tackle out due to concussion [UPDATE]

[UPDATE]: As expected, Lane Johnson was ruled out at halftime due to a concussion. Britain Covey will also not play against the Saints due to a shoulder injury.

The Eagles' game against the Saints got even worse when the offensive line took two big hits. First, Mekhi Becton left the field and went inside with the trainers after being examined in the medical tent. Then Lane Johnson vomited and had to be taken to the locker room. The team announced that Johnson is being evaluated for a concussion – he is unlikely to return.

Losing right guard and right tackle is far from ideal. Tyler Steen came in for Becton and Fred Johnson for Lane. Becton was seen returning to the sideline with his helmet before halftime, but his return was questionable due to a finger injury.

As if that wasn't bad enough, wide receiver Britain Covey also left the game with a shoulder injury and was sent to the locker room early in the second quarter. Cooper DeJean was the punt returner with Covey out.

Injuries are never good, but it is particularly discouraging when the team is unable to perform despite being fully healthy or has sustained injuries in crucial areas.
