Chargers quarterback leaves game against Steelers

Quarterback Justin Herbert has left the Los Angeles Chargers’ Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 26-year-old suffered a severe ankle sprain in the Chargers' Week 2 win over the Carolina Panthers and appeared to re-injure the injury in the third quarter on Sunday. In the game broadcast, Herbert was seen limping to the sideline after taking a hard hit against the Steelers.

According to Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Herbert had to be treated in the blue medical tent on the Chargers' sideline. Backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke came in as a replacement.
