49ers vs. Rams: Second quarter thread: Touchdowns are fun

The San Francisco 49ers couldn't have started the game better. On their first possession, they marched 70 yards in less than four minutes after Brock Purdy found Jauan Jennings completely free in the end zone.

In between there was also a decision for “unnecessary force against the passer”, but Jordan Mason managed three gains of seven yards and also got a first down through the air after missing a defender.

The defense forced a three-and-out. Nick Bosa nearly managed a sack, but his pressure forced Matthew Stafford to escape the pocket and throw a bad pass.

Jacob Cowing caught his first punt cleanly and gained nine yards. So the offense, defense and special teams all reacted well from the start.

The offense didn't let up on the next drive either. Jauan Jennings received a pass for 34 yards, Eric Saubert received one for 15 yards and the 49ers were in the red zone thanks to a 9 yard pass from Brandon Aiyuk.

Jennings scored his second touchdown of the game, giving the 49ers a commanding 14-point lead.
