At least 7 injured in mass accident on Interstate 70 in Washington County

SOUTH STRABANE, Pa. (KDKA) – At least seven people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Washington County.

County EMS officials confirmed the accident occurred just before 2 p.m. Sunday between Exit 21 for I-79 South – Morgantown and Exit 20 for PA 136 – Beau Street.

According to the South Strabane Fire Department, the accident affected “multiple lanes” of Interstate 70 and Interstate 79.

According to Washington County's 911 emergency number, four of the injured were flown to area hospitals by rescue helicopter and three others were taken by ambulance.
