Chillicothe Police Report: Summary of Recent Incidents

Chillicothe, OH – The Chillicothe Police Department (CPD) released its daily media report on September 22, 2024, detailing a number of incidents from the previous day.

Traffic violations
There were several traffic stops earlier in the day, including one at the corner of Fleet and Gilmore Streets at 12:53 a.m. for ignoring a stop sign. Officers also stopped several motorists for driving without a valid license, including Lazae Glori Ann Lett, who was stopped at about 1:07 a.m. on East Main Street for failing to renew her license.

Arrest for domestic violence
At approximately 10:01 a.m., a serious incident occurred in Sherman Park when officers responded to a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, they discovered signs of physical injuries on the victim, which led to the arrest of James Honaker for domestic violence and strangulation.

Criminal activities and investigations
The report included a number of ongoing investigations. A case of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported in the 400 block of East 2nd Street, and police are investigating a report of theft at Walmart on River Trace Lane.

Incidents of improper conduct
Numerous reports of disturbances were received throughout the day, including disturbances at various locations, including the Hana Japanese Steakhouse and a parking lot at Harbor Freight.

Hit and run accidents
Officers also investigated two hit-and-run crashes. One of those crashes involved damage to a vehicle parked at Walgreens between 3 and 10 p.m., and another crash was reported at Kroger on North Bridge Street.

CPD continues to investigate these incidents and encourages community members to report any information regarding ongoing cases.
